Nestled among native trees and subtropical gardens high on the hill behind Whakatane township, a quiet location with the Observatory being at the end of the cul de sac street to observe the southern skies. A perfect central destination for outdoor enthusiasts and families to discover the beautiful beaches, Harbour, walking and cycle tracks etc. Just down the road is a walking track to beautiful Otarawairere Bay, a secluded beach only accessible on foot or by kayaks, the track also leads you to New Zealands most loved beach "Ohope Beach" so safe to swim and enjoy all water sports. From land based fishing experiences to adventuring out to sea, the boat ramp is only 1.9km away.The Whakatane golf club is less than 10 minutes away as is the Awakeri thermal Hot Springs.
Cities, Tauranga and Rotorua are only 1 hours drive away for more attractions.
TV with unlimited wifi to watch Netflix if you are relaxing indoors.

Summary: We had a lovely stay at this beautiful home. The house is well laid out, plenty of room inside and out. The views are stunning, out door area has plenty of room along with a spa and barbecue. We would definitely stay here again.

Summary: Beautiful Home, fab view. Shame one dishwasher wasn't working but we managed. No shortage of crockery and kitchen stuff. Lucky it was fine weather to get the washing dry as no dryer.Overall very enjoyable and we would definitely return.

Summary: Had a lovely time staying at this property. Owner was warm and helpful, and property was exactly as listed. We had a nice welcome card and chocolates as well. I highly recommend this place as a stop along the windy coastal journey of NZ. Five stars!

Summary: My siblings and family were desperate for this get away and Pacific Heights did not disappoint. We all kept marvelling how perfect the place was - the view was out of this world and thank goodness for the fire and plentiful supply of firewood. Kitchen big enough for several of us to be working together, and the twin sink and dish drawers made it all so easy. The beds were all so comfy and great showers. Turning into the driveway is a bit of a trick until we learned to approach by coming up the hill from the city. We all loved it and will be back. Thanks Pacific Heights, Whakatane.

Summary: Lorraine’s property was spacious with plenty of space and exceptional views. It was handy to town and many walks and cycle trails. The children enjoyed the spa. The house was extremely well equipped. Lorraine was very easy to contact and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Summary: For our family of 4 including a 2 year old, this was the best place to stay. Comfy beds, plenty of bathrooms, best hot tub to end the day with gorgeous views, short walking distance to downtown or to the beach… we enjoyed every minute. Hosts were communicative and kind.
